We know we can help you achieve your academic goals, but understand that every tutoring firm makes the same claims. However, rather than simply asking you to trust us, we would like to share some of our success stories from both current and past clients as well as share colleges our clients have attended.
At Capital Tutoring, we have worked with a wide array of clients with just as unique a set of goals and challenges within which to work. We would like to leave this section open to our clients, past and present, to share their experiences at Capital Tutoring.
As the first entry, we'd like to share owner, Akshat (A.K) Prasad's favorite story as a tutor:
"Back when I first started tutoring I had a client, a sophomore, who was having trouble in Geometry. As I began working with him, I saw that he was able to understand everything I was teaching him, but in the classroom he seemed to continue to have difficulty. After working with the client for some time I asked him why he felt he was unable to learn in the classroom. It was then that he told me that he was afraid of getting involved in the class discussion because he was afraid that his peers would think he was 'stupider than everyone already thought.'
After learning this I worked with my client to develop not only his understanding of the course content, but to become more confident in speaking in front of his peers. I explained how no one would think he was dumb because they were most likely just as lost as he was. I shared with him some of my experiences making a fairly public spectacle of myself and how I overcame my embarrassment and even used some situations to my advantage.
By the end of the school year my client was not only doing well one-on-one, but also in classroom. He gained the confidence to participate more actively in class and began to develop and hone the skills he would need to succeed later in life. This was the first client who I was able to help not only understand the class material, but also how every step he was taking now was part of the process of development for his future career. By seeing these results I began to see that this was a whole new way of reaching clients and allowed us both to find our own way." - A.K. Prasad
