Capital Tutoring takes pride in providing its clients the best service available with the most qualified staff. Our employees have graduated from well-respected colleges and have continued their education and growth in a variety of academic and professional subject areas. The diverse experiences and expertise of our staff are utilized to provide our clients with the best tutor for their specific goals.
Akshat Prasad (A.K) is the owner and lead tutor at Capital Tutoring. Since, 2002, he has provided academic support on a range of subjects for middle school through graduate students in math, English, science, social studies, and business along with standardized test prep. While managing Capital Tutoring, A.K. is also a management consultant in Deloitte’s Federal Technology Strategy and Architecture practice. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Physics in 2006.

Maggie Urbanik is currently working on her graduate thesis at George Mason University. With an undergraduate degree in English, she is pursuing a Masters degree in English with a focus in teaching writing and literature. Maggie currently serves as a teaching assistant and writing center editor at Northern Virginia Community College. At Capital Tutoring, Maggie specializes in preparing clients for the Verbal and Essay sections of the SAT I and the SAT II – Literature test.

Brian Miranda specializes in math, physics, and government tutoring services. Upon graduating college, Brian was hired as a Logistics Analyst at CACI and has since transitioned to providing engineering support for the Army at Fort Belvoir. Brian graduated from the University of Maryland with an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2008.
